How is it possible that this car still looks so good and drives like a brand new car at 134k miles and almost ten years after I bought it? I had 0 issues with it and everything works!

That’s what proper maintenance gets ya. I’m in the same boat with my 2017 hybrid. Zero repairs besides regular maintenance and I’m at 114k.

Can you elaborate on what maintenance you performed to ensure it lasted this long?

I have to add that I did the maintenance myself and never gave it to the dealer or some Jiffy Lube idiots.

@Haven
I give it to the idiots all the time, keeps my insurance from talking shit, and my bumper to bumper coverage in check.

Oil changes at 5k, transmission oil change at 10k, new spark plugs at 110k. Serpentine belt changed (preventative) at 130k. That’s it!! I just don’t get how this car can be so good and driving like a brand new car.

@Haven
How hard was it to replace the serpentine belt yourself? Mine is still factory original and I’m at 143K, so it’s probably due for a new one.

You can see the marks if it’s stretched. But I didn’t do it myself and Ford needed to do it. It was pretty cheap. I could have done it myself too.

@Haven
Transmission fluid every 10,000? Hell, the manual says the first change is at 100,000 under normal conditions?

The standard is every 30K. Drain and fill only, NEVER flush.

@Ren
Never flushed it. My transmission is butter smooth.

Good, you’re doing something right. 10K is a bit excessive though IMHO.

Nope, I wouldn’t wait that long. Even after 10k, it’s black black.

@Haven
Are you sure about the glow plugs? Are you in Europe?

Sorry, spark plugs. I am in the RC hobby and we use glow plugs :sweat_smile:.

What engine is inside?
