If you wait until this message pops up to change your oil on your Fusion, I hope it’s a lease or that you got a warranty… Fusions are set to give you this warning every 10k miles.

It gets an annual oil change, and I only drive about 5,000 miles a year. My suspicion is that my mechanic forgot to reset the timer when he changed the oil last time.
@Benn
That’s the only reason I ever see mine, and with good maintenance, the only time you should see it too haha. 5k is not bad; I prefer to do mine every 3-4 tops that way if and when I need to go over, I’m only going past 4k and not over 5. I do it myself in 20 minutes and it only costs me $50 in oil and OEM filter from Ford, so I don’t mind doing it more frequently.

And will let the engine last just past the factory warranty period. Change it every 5K and skip the B.S. calculations here. I put a sticker in my driver’s side window and set a marker for 3-4 months out after every oil change. The transmission gets drained and filled on every other oil change. I’ll gladly spend a little here and still have a car down the line.
@Quin
My thought process exactly! Although I’m a bit hesitant to change the transmission fluid so often, I plan on doing it every 10-30k miles tops well before any manufacturer recommendation. I just got mine at 66k and had no way of telling if and when it’s been serviced previously, did the oil and trans, spark plugs when I got it. Just hit 69k recently and did the second oil change lol.
@Frances
Just about the same here. 2016 S with 68,000 mi. 2.5 L. I hope it lasts a long, long time. It’s a lot of fun to drive.

Is it that bad? I’ve got this message (Mondeo Vignale MK5, European version of Fusion) 5 weeks ago and 2 more weeks to go until it’s changed. I’m not sure where this comes from; drove the car about 7,000 km in the last 12 months, so it’s more driven range-based.
@Finnick
7k km is about 4,300 miles—not bad at all, but Fusions are set to give you this warning every 10k miles. I don’t know if it’s different on Mondeos. So if you wait until 10k or more, I hope it’s not your car or not under warranty. Generally, you shouldn’t ever go over 5k miles consecutively thinking your oil is rated for higher or that your car can handle more… preventative maintenance is a lot easier and cheaper than replacing an engine.
Dunno. But you should probably get an oil change.
I don’t get those? EV.
