Totaled my 2013 SE at 172k miles in early September after 8+ years together. If you were here for that post, I did indeed upgrade
Bought a black 2019 Fusion Hybrid Titanium earlier this month.
I’m a black cloud human in general. You know, one of those “if it could happen, it’ll happen to me” situations.
I’m fairly certain my new Fusion is also a black cloud.
Got the windows tinted at a very reputable shop in my city. They took two small nicks out of my A panel and somehow hit my driver side mirror so hard it dislodged my glass. Popped it back in and asked him to replace my A panel. Moved on.
Took it through the car wash for the first time the other day and felt like the back end tried to get sucked into a mini wind tunnel. Reverb scratches across my right bumper near my reflector.
Here’s to being a chronic optimist and hoping me and my apparent car twin survive life together for a while
Nice car, man. Just some friendly advice, don’t ever bring your car to an automatic car wash unless you want to ruin your paint. Either take it to a touchless car wash, do it yourself, or have it detailed by a professional.
What percent are your tints? Was thinking of tinting my car with 35% because it’s the legal limit in my location.
@Emory
I’ve always heard this! We have a horrid selection of touchless washes in my city. I’m just biting the bullet and buying everything to hand wash it moving forward🧼
Tint is 20%! Front windshield as well.
Not legal where I’m at either but it’s hot 9.5 months out of the year here and I’m a human heater so 35% would nooot cut the heat enough for me. My previous Fusion was 10% and I never got a ticket for it!
@Mika
How did you manage to pass inspection with illegal tints? I really want to put 25% on mine, but I don’t want to pay a 300-dollar citation and then pay to take them off and put new ones on. - I hate the tint laws in my state.
@Emory
No inspections in my state! I lived in TN for a few years when I drove my ‘13 though and never had an issue. Maybe their process doesn’t/didn’t include tint, though!
@Emory
Sounds like absolute traaash to have inspection regulations include tint.
There’s just as many reasons for individuals with good intentions to have privacy for their safety as there are reasons that dark tint minimizes safety if the driver is a shit human.
I do understand officers choosing to enforce it but it’s wild to know some states take it THAT seriously
