This is the 2011 sel 3.0-ford

Have one. Nobody seems to talk in the reddit about it. Just the turbo ones which I’m not a fan. Change the spark plugs and the O2 sensors to improve gas and update the ECU with the latest firmware.

It’s very powerful and comfortable, don’t forget gearbox oil and check all the bushings… they must be old as mine. Lol.

@Reagan
Agreed. Yeah will have to check soon lol.

@Reagan
I used to have one. My 6F35 went out. Loved running E85 though.

@Reagan
I have a 2016 SE 2.5. How do I update to the latest firmware?

Go to a mechanic that works with ECUs.

I have a 2012 SEL 3.0, watch out for the timing chain cover gasket, it will go bad and leak on you. It’s happened to me twice, with my 2010 3.0 and my 2012 3.0.

Every single gasket on the motor will leak by ~120-150k.

Otherwise, very solid motors.

@Vero
Not from what I have experienced, it’s just been the chain cover gasket.

Had a Fusion and 2 Escape 3.0s; between the 3 of them:

  • water pump drive oil seal x2

  • gasket on the plate for that water pump drive pulley only on the Fusion.

  • valve cover gaskets on all 3.

  • oil pan seal x2

  • timing chain cover x2.

  • Front crank seal on both Escapes but not Fusion.

  • Rear main on one Escape but it was over 200k and a rusty piece of junk anyway.

@Vero
I had to replace the water pump on my 2012 but not my 2010 and I just use oil seal and high mileage oil till I’ll be able to afford or have the knowledge to replace the cover gasket. Never had any issues with valve cover gaskets.

Me too. And some other things. You know Ford.

@Reagan
Tie rod ends at about 130k too, transmission bushings at about 190k.
