Starting Issue - No Crank Signal to Starter Relay (ECU/PCM Issue?)

Has brand new battery
Key fobs seem fine
Brake switch is being pressed
Shift cable is still attached to transmission (it’s weird these cars won’t let you start in neutral)
I can hear some relays clicking in the engine compartment.

I’ve jumped the starter relay and the motor will turn over. For some reason, the relay isn’t getting a signal to start to crank! I’ve eliminated all I can think of; are ECU/PCM issues pretty common on these?

Anyone have a similar issue? Battery is only 3 weeks old and was at 12.7 volts yesterday. It worked fine up until a day ago.

Check all the ground connections is my guess based on the other comments and your replies.

This is the best answer I’ve seen so far, honestly.

Hope it helps.

Not sure, I would jump it and get followed to an auto store to get the code reader on it.

There are no codes, it doesn’t start either. I also have a code reader and already connected it. I did that because if it won’t connect, it’s an indicator of PCM issues. It connected fine lol, so still confused.

What is the battery voltage now?

It was 11.9 earlier when I went and put the scanner on it.

Check the amps on the battery. Even though it has 12v, if a battery doesn’t have enough amps, it won’t start the car. If it went down to 11v, it most likely sounds like the battery could be bad as well… Jump start it and have the battery tested at an auto parts store if you don’t have a way of testing it yourself.

I would still try to jump it; could be alternator.

You’re not listening, he has power. The relay won’t activate the starter.

The battery is at 12.7 volts… Also, that was the first thing I tried.

Can you put a trickle charger or charger on it for an hour or two? Disconnect the charger. Wait a half hour and check the voltage; it should hold above 12vdc. Make sure no lights and doors are on/open.

Also, make sure battery terminal cables are snug; you can’t rotate them and they aren’t corroded.

Show pics of battery terminals.

Check all your fuses.

Going to give them another look. Didn’t see anything, and I swapped some of the relays around as well.

Where’s the passenger fuse box located?

I think it’s to the left of the steering wheel, up under the dash. The fuse box in the engine compartment has fuses on the bottom too, btw.

Are you behind on payments? Sounds like it has an immobilizer on it.
