Should I Buy This Car? Deal Seems Too Good

Body looks good, why not just get it replaced? Cheaper than a car payment.

It actually shows its mileage in person plus I’m scared that the engine might give the deuces next.

At 150k my car jerks a little at acceleration and my RPM rockets sometimes. Am I cooked?

Had the transmission go out on my 2015 Fusion SE at ~195k miles. My brother found a blown engine 2016 Fusion for $1200 and put the transmission in for me. Just hit 199k miles after getting it back.

A new/used transmission was something worth investing in for me personally versus buying a new car, especially since I have owned my Fusion since 29k miles. I know exactly what it’s been through and knew it still had a lot of life left despite the transmission shitting on me.

Go get that 300k if it’s worth it to you!

Transmission is probably bad as you suspect, but I’m curious what it would do if you checked the fluid level (likely low) and topped it off? (or just did a proper drain and fill)
Like you said, damage has probably been done, but I wonder if it’s just really low on fluid?

I just had to say goodbye to my 2018 Ford Fusion after 125k miles because of a coolant intrusion. I was a year away from paying it off completely too .
