I'm a Bit Lost … What’s Up with My Fusion Stickers?

I noticed that my Fusion has both Hybrid and EcoBoost stickers … Did the dealer add these to help sell the car?

What kind of vehicle did you get? It might have been in an accident and the body shop could have put the wrong badges on it.

Hybrids only came with a 2.0L Duratec and are front-wheel drive. No all-wheel drive or turbo options available.

@Rohan
It’s from a used car dealership, and that’s probably the reason.

But seriously, what kind of Fusion did you buy? Did you get a hybrid or a non-hybrid? What model did you go for?

@Amari
It’s a Hybrid Fusion. I checked under the hood and it has the hybrid engine.

You can look at the front doors for clues. Fusions don’t have any side badges, but hybrids will have ‘Hybrid’ written on them, while the Energi will have a ‘Fusion’ badge with the E-logo and ‘Energi’ below it.

We get to be unique in our Fusions.

Also, it’s super easy to tell if you open the hood. The driver’s side will have a silver inverter and some orange cables for the high voltage. The engine will be on the passenger side.

@Skyler
Is that really the only way to tell? When the original poster has two badges? What makes the doors any different?

Great advice!

Check the VIN. And you, the person who posted this, you bought the car - the VIN registration will tell you exactly what you have.

It pains me to hear about this stuff. My coworker bought a new hybrid Camry, and I complimented it. I said, ‘And you’ve got all-wheel drive, that’s nice for our winter storms.’

She replied, ‘No, I don’t have AWD.’

Then, four hours later when she was leaving work, she told me, ‘Just saw the badge, I do have AWD.’

… It’s tough to see you winding up like this!

@Skyler
For the 2020 model, it only has the black hybrid badge on the trunk.

Don’t quote me, but didn’t they make a few small changes in the 2020 version since it was the last year? I remember that the rear door handles didn’t have lock sensors, while the earlier models did have unlock/lock from any door. Stuff like that.

Seems likely they saved some money on badges.

@Skyler
Yeah, actually, none of the four doors have the lock sensors unless you upgrade to an SEL; unfortunately, I have an SE, lol.

@Skyler
Yeah, I had a feeling I had the hybrid, lol. For a long time, I thought I had all-wheel drive since I handled it well in the snow and rain. :sweat_smile: I know I’m a decent driver in those conditions.

Honestly, at 4900 lbs, my Energi is a real beast in the snow.

@Skyler
4900? My Energi is 3900 lbs. Is that right? One of us must be wrong.

@Skyler
If there’s a good amount of snow, you want to keep the momentum going and not slow down (not saying to go fast, just maintain the pace) or you’ll end up getting stuck. That happened to me a couple of times before I learned, lol.

@Rohan
Hybrids only have 2.5 Atkinson engines.

No, it’s 2.0. There is a 2.5, but that’s a regular Otto cycle engine and not used in hybrids.

Hybrids have a 2.0, while the 2.5 is found in the S model.

‘All Fusion Hybrid and Fusion Energi models are powered by an Atkinson cycle naturally aspirated 2.0L I4 gasoline engine along with an electric motor.’

All your comments.

Wait, is the drivetrain where you put the gas?

Just checked your profile; you bought this car a year ago…

Calling this a fake post … or you shouldn’t be able to drive.

Mods, please respond.
