Hey ya’ll, I need to know how f#%d I am

I recently invested in a 2019 ford fusion hybrid with 90,000 miles on it. I’ve owned the vehicle for about 3 weeks. I went to go turn it on this morning and it wouldn’t start. I heard some clicking noises but other than that there was no power going to the vehicle at all. Got a ride to work and afterwards I came home and it started right up. But it had the check engine light on, I scanned it and it gave me the code u0412. From what I read online, the code means that there is something wrong with the onboard computer. Has anyone else had a problem like this? And if so, how expensive was it to fix?

The 12 volt battery, perhaps?

My 2017 Energi was behaving strangely or erratically because the 12 volt battery was fading. went back to normal after a new one was installed.

Invalid Data Received From Battery Energy Control Module “A” is the definition of the OBD-II Code Diagnostic Trouble Code.

Perhaps as a result of low voltage

It’s probably just the battery dude, shouldn’t be that costly

Even fully electric vehicles and hybrids require regular 12 volt lead battery changes.

The 12v battery in the trunk is bad. Replace that and you should be good to go.

Get your battery tested now.

The 12V battery on my Energi died, and now everything is working well.

It sounds like the 12-volt battery might be nearing its end; the code you received was most likely caused by a voltage dip that occurred when you attempted to start it early in the morning. The afternoon’s warmer weather meant that the battery had JUST enough power to turn it on. That battery is most likely the original, based on its age, so it is nearing the end of its useful life. Get it tested, and if it’s defective, replace it. I guarantee you won’t experience any further problems. I recently purchased an 11-year-old Mini, which is a fantastic vehicle, but it kept alerting me on occasion about the battery. I checked it and it’s almost dead.

It is necessary to replace the 12 volt battery located in the left side trunk. Purchase the batteries on your own, follow a YouTube tutorial, then swap it out. If you follow the steps exactly, it’s really simple and easy. Wishing you luck.

About the same distance (about 90k) required me to replace the battery in my Ford Fusion. I would investigate it first.
