Finally saying goodbye to this terrible boat

I’m finally selling my 2016 Fusion. After 8 years, I’ve had enough of this clunky mess. Here are some problems I’ve faced…

  • Tires blowing out all the time from potholes
  • Rims bending
  • Tires wearing out faster than I can understand
  • My entire infotainment system glitching and not letting me switch away from the radio. Had to get it replaced while it was under warranty
  • Backup camera that stops working right when I need it
  • Hood latch that doesn’t lock. Not the safety latch, the main one. I got stranded at a rest stop after adding wiper fluid because of it
  • Mirror puddle lights always burning out
  • The car feels underpowered, struggling to speed up on ramps
  • So many paint chips
I’m sure there’s more. Good riddance. Never buying an American car again.

Not sure why everyone is having such bad luck with their Fusions… mine has been great lol sorry you had to go through this

Tires blowing out all the time from potholes

You should really avoid potholes instead of driving over them

Bent rims

Try not to hit curbs and work on your parking skills

Eating tires so fast I can’t even understand how

Maybe cut back on gravel roads or avoid ones with debris

Hood latch doesn’t lock

How hard are you slamming your hood? Those latches are meant to take some force, but replacing one isn’t too hard

Dangerously underpowered

What size engine do you have? 1.0 or 1.5L? Even those engines aren’t that weak; Fusions used to race in Nascar

So many paint chips

Do you wax or clean your car regularly?

Sounds like some of these issues might be from not taking care of it

Wow man, are you seriously attacking the person who posted this?

Yeah, someone has to stick up for the Ford Fusions here …

I really dislike my 2011 model, but that’s just because the Bluetooth and AC don’t work right. Other than that it’s a nice little car.

I doubt switching cars will fix your issues. I bet none of these problems could be linked to how you drive or care for your car.

Yeah, definitely get something different if you plan to hit potholes. Other cars should hold up better against that kind of thing.

So what are you getting instead?

If you thought the Fusion was underpowered, your new car has even less horsepower at 147. If you wanted something foreign, maybe check out a used Lexus or something. I still have my Fusion but got myself a gs350 and I love it; it has 300hp.

So you think Fusions are terrible’ so you chose an Elantra? Wow, you are in for a real surprise.

If you don’t keep up with car maintenance, it definitely won’t last. I’ve done the bare minimum because I was worried about costs. Now it’s catching up with me. Luckily, I found a friend who helps with repairs I can’t handle. He’s worked on a lot of Fusions and knows what to check and fix on mine. I have the 2.5 engine, and he says it’s one of the most reliable.

Sorry to hear about your troubles. My 2016 Titanium 2.0EB has been fantastic. I’ve only had to deal with tires and brakes. I did have to replace a catalytic converter a few years ago. It has 140k miles and is still going strong.

Ford makes junk, but it’s cheap junk so what can you do?
