2016 Ford Fusion AdvanceTrac Light Just Came On

A quick backstory:

My audio control module has been out, so I’ve been without radio or Bluetooth music for a couple of months.

Last month, I had a rear tire blowout on the highway. I got towed and replaced all four tires since winter is coming, and my tires needed replacing.

The other day, it rained, and I saw the Service AdvanceTrac message pop up, along with a Check Rear Park Aid message and Hillstart Assist not available.

Also, I noticed the traction control turned off and the ABS system light was on.

Does anyone know what might be going on? Could the wheel speed sensor need replacing? Is it possible something went wrong at Pep Boys when they replaced the tires? I’ve never seen the AdvanceTrac service indicator come on before. I’m trying to decide whether to take it to the dealership or get the codes read and see if I can fix it at home.

Thanks for any help!

You should go to a shop and have them read the ABS codes. They can tell you which wheel is throwing the wheel speed sensor code if that’s the issue, which I assume it is.

Thanks! I’ll try that first and see where to go from there.

No problem, the part is really cheap at AutoZone or the Ford parts department.

My buddy works at AutoZone, so he’s going to help me pull the codes, and then I can decide from there. I saw similar things on Reddit pointing to the wheel speed sensor, but I wanted to see if anyone else had this issue after getting tires replaced.

Get those fault codes read since nobody on Reddit can read codes for you. AutoZone might not be able to read all of them. You should take it to the dealership for a full diagnostic.

It might be a wheel bearing. How many miles do you have on it? Like around 110k?
