2010 Fusion - Control Arms & Front Struts - is dealer estimate accurate?

Each control arm can be had for $50 on RockAuto. So that’s $200 of control arms and $200 in struts if you get nicer ones. $400 of parts and $4000 of labor :face_with_symbols_over_mouth:.

Do you have a handy friend that you can ply with beer or something? This would be a 2 cases of beer job at my house.

@Kai
It’s actually 6 control arms for the front.

Tire pressure sensors are the only remotely priced thing he’s offering. They cost around 75 each and I wouldn’t want to install them. That said you have a 2010 so who cares.

The rest is a joke. Why does your estimate look so fake?

Is your 2010 Fusion even worth $4,000.00 on the used market???

Car dealerships are the consistently most soullessly immorally greedy businesses around. And this is now with information available to the consumer in pricing etc. imagine them back in the day with no internet information. Fuck these fuckers! As the guy in ‘Fargo’ said regarding the ‘Trucoat’; ‘these guys, these guys, it’s always the same with them!’ :joy:

You can do all this yourself fairly easily minus the tire pressure sensors.

I did my rear brakes and rotors myself for under 200.

It’s insane you are going to the dealer for a car from 2010 period.

All prices are insane. Get a few more quotes.

Parts and labor right?
I couldn’t think it be more than $2400 in parts for both upper and lower and both front struts. Alignment should be included since they’re tearing apart the suspension. Asking 2k ish in labor to do it for you.

Brakes seems about right for dealership price. Decent wipers hopefully not too bad of price. Filters a little high in my opinion. Especially if there easy access.
TPS sensors about right. If that’s also labor to install them and program them.

If you are comfortable with doing the filter and wipers that’s great.

Brakes you could save maybe 250 ish?
Break down being 18% on parts and like 175hr rate not sure what that dealership charge rate are but that’s close to average for my area.
3rd party shop should be much lower like around 75-125hr from what I heard.

Good lord that’s rough. Is this in CAD?

You can get wipers for $20-$30.

Air filters anywhere from $20-$40.

Not sure about the lower control arms on a 2010, but my 2013 probably has the easiest lower control arms on the market.

Go to repairpal.com and price the services in your area.

JC. $220.00 for my 2009 Sienna and it’s DIY.
